Boks need work on throwing punches
Exclusive photo footage from the Springbok training camp reveals a worrying weakness in the squad. On the right, Albert van der Bergh is throwing as ferocious a right hook as he can muster; on the left, Johan Muller barely seems to have noticed. Granted, there are gloves and a punch bag to soften the blow, but with the World Cup just weeks away, Feverpitcher can but be concerned.
So what to do about it? The need to get in a solid punch will arise pretty quickly in France (England, Samoa and Tonga all in the opening round), and we can’t have the Springboks in anything less than fighting form. So Feverpitcher would recommend a few emergency appointments to the technical team: Richard Bands, whose punch in the friendly against the Griffons a couple of weeks ago was the best of the season to date; Robbie Kempson, a master of rugby’s dark arts; and James Dalton. Throw in a couple of nights out in East Rand bars, and we should just have the squad ready for the World Cup.

Mick Jagger is probably cricket’s biggest rock star fan, but he isn’t the only one, as evidenced by this particular quote from Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell, picked up earlier in the week by Cricinfo. Explaining how he picked up his interest …
Rugby World Cup heading same way as the Tour de France
Friday, 27th July 2007 at 10:49 am
Cheating and scandal will linger on in France after the Tour de France and into the start of the Rugby World Cup. It seems Heineken’s ad promoting the tournament may not been a clean creative attempt at originality.
Seems that cheating …
