Team Feeesh raring to go

If Feverpitcher has appeared a little breathless this week, then it’s not without good reason: ed Dan Nicholl has been hard at work, preparing for an extremely challenging Sunday. Absa’s annual Corporate Relay takes place in Johannesburg, and a cunning piece of persuasion from Mark Fish has Feverpitcher on board, running in one of the two celebrity teams taking part for charity.

Which means Loui Fish, Mark’s drop-dead gorgeous wife, will hand over to your mildly terrified editor, who will in turn attempt to negotiate 7.8 kilometres without ending up in intensive care - a scenario all the more likely given that Saturday evening includes a quiet dinner with Fish and Big Brother winner Ferdinand Rabie, two men known for their fondness for a quiet beer.

Feverpitcher could be flying at half-mast on Monday morning, then; look out for news of the Absa challenge next week. And if you’re in Jo’burg, come and support the two teams - Mr. and Mrs. Fish, myself, Ferdi, Christina Storm, Sean Els, Mark Williams and Glen Lewis in one team, and Claudia Henkel (pictured), AB de Villiers, Happy Ntshingila, Kabelo Mabalane, Dingaan Mokebe, Kabelo Mabalane, Vanessa Marawa and a mystery participant in the other. Deep breath, and try not to think about the 7.8 kilometres too much…
