Melck in shock Bok call-up?

Rugby’s rumour mill is going berserk in the build-up to the World Cup squad announcement on Saturday, with one name coming up time and again: Justin Melck. The Western Province and Stormers flanker might not seem an automatic selection, but Jake White is apparently adamant that Melck must go, for one simple reason: the flamboyance that the Cape Town loose forward will add to the planned Springbok war dance.

Melck - pictured here in the fethcing apricot lobster suit - is well-known for his charismatic dance floor appearances, and on the strength of that alone might well make the final 30. That in turn could see a quite extravagant Springbok dance at the World Cup, one that would put the haka firmly in the shade. Melck was unavailable for comment - he and team-mates Brent Russell and Huia Edmonds were busy counting down the hours to the launch of the seventh and final Harry Potter - but prepare yourself for the name ‘Justin Melck’ when the team is named on Saturday afternoon.
