Francois Steyn’s golden boot
Joel Stransky still lays claim to the definitive South African drop-goal, and Jannie de Beer’s single-handed demolition of England in the 1999 quarterfinal was arguably more important, given the World Cup context. But for sheer rugby chutzpah, the Francois Steyn show at Newlands enters the top of the pile of drop-goal glory, two fabulous late strikes stealing the game from the Wallabies, and underlining just what an outrageous talent Steyn is.
Chances are, this particular image won’t be an irregular one, and with Steyn lethal from halfway or closer, the Springboks have three points on tap with a little space. Stransky and De Beer have already created World Cup history with the drop-goal; Feverpitcher would put good money on France 2007 seeing Steyn creating a similar three point legend.

Hi everyone!!!!!!!I’m Kate,I’m french and a friend of mine told me about all these comments so I just wanna say a few things;I didnt know François Steyn until the world cup in my country.I heard about him because all the media focus on his talent and they had reason cos his very talented.In France we have a vision very stereotyped of Boks play but i think François Steyn bring something new and that’swonderful to have such a player in a team!!I would like to replay to Rohays Steyn his sister(if you are really his sister……….) i think you are a little bit harsh with anél,i don’t see what is bad to thought François steyn is sexy that don’t mean all girl want to date with him and pounce on him in the road!! i permit to tell you that cos i’m a friend of a french rugby player and girls think he is hot to so…

HI Mia!!!!!Thanks for reply!!!I I don’t know if you know but Frederic Michalak, a french player gonna play for the sharks with François Steyn this season.As you I am a huge fan of Steyn play but above all of Michalak and i have an incredible story to tell you.Last year for university i moved to Toulouse.Toulouse is the place were Michalak play rugby last year.So,on a saturday night i go to the club with friends and on the dancefloor we saw Fred with some of his friends!!!As they were near us we dance together and we had fun during a few minutes.All of that,to say to you that keep hope to meet Steyn cos I never thought i could meet Michalak who is one of my favourite player.You have to be natural and cool if you meet him no being a groupie it’s a boy like the others even if we admired it.You see when I meet Fred i not even answer for an autograph or a photo…..,it was just cool to share a moment of fun with him his and my friends!!!I I will give you the internet place for François Steyn interview :www.rftguk.co.uk and click on players interviews it will give youthe interview of Steyn.

The right place for victor Matfield is Toulon it is in the south of France a very lovely town I think he will have a very pleasant year inToulon!!Fred is a very nice and fun guy if François is the same they will become friends of course!!!There’no time difference between France and South Africa expect in summer there is one hour more!!!!For Christo i dont know what to tell you……..I dont know him….but if he doesn’t like you it’s a little bit stupid cos he doesn’t know you….I see on the french tv that we will see Sharks match!!Great!!!Me and my friends will be best french supporters for sharks team!!!

When they landed back from the World Cup people were CRAZY and i mean CRAZY!!Uhm.. we have some Sports mags that has only springboks in it!!, but in their swimwear or something..hahaha not naked!!( your’re so lucky) Well Fourie is the best scrumhalf in the world i like him, but you know in a rugby way!!! I think everybody saw that the team missed our leaders and star players such as Schalk Burger,Victor Matfield,Bakkies Botha, Percy Montgomery and John Smit, but a loss is a loss!! i’m anél and francois steyn’s number 1 fan. i just want to say, not because i like him and so - just because he is better, that francois steyn should not sit on the bench for 60 minutes and play only 20 minutes, he has to play the whole game. really he is better and you saw what he did against the wallabies, he made South Africa(the Boks) win. if it wasn’t for Francois Steyn, the boks could forget about winning. so Uncle jake white, please let him play the whole 80 minutes, if he made us win in 6 minutes, just think of how far we could’ve if he played 80 minutes.
