My kind of golf

Most of the time, professional golfers play shots the rest of us can only marvel at. Drives that cross time zones, approaches that settle inches from the pin, snaking putts that somehow wind their way into barely visible holes. But occasionally the pros provide something we can all identify with: cue Colin Montgomerie on the 11th at Sun City on Friday. Monty’s drive found the rough; his second shot then hit a tree. As did his third. And his fourth. Shot number five landed in a greenside bunker; number six stayed there. Seven found the green, and two shots later, Monty was down for nine - a quintuple bogey. Now that’s the sort of golf we’ve all played before…
