Cycling’s dark secret

So far, the European press - proudly led by L’Equipe (French for ’strong dislike of Lance Armstrong, and most other cyclists’) - hasn’t picked up on it, and right now, no cyclist worth his salt would admit it. But somewhere amongst the lycra-clad peleton must lie a rider who carries a terrible secret. A secret that, were it to emerge, would ruin his standing amongst his peers, and shatter every ounce of street cred he has amongst his fellow riders. I don’t know who he is, nor when he’ll be outed - but there’s a cyclist currently racing through France burdened by an awful truth: that he’s never taken an illegal substance in his cycling career. Heaven help him - and the sport of cycling - when the press finally discovers who he is…
